Background
Based in and around Oxford, Introtrain delivers NVQs in Hairdressing & Barbering Level 2 & 3. Pre-delivery concerns shared by SkillWise and the client centred upon the Assessors’ PC skills, their inclination to use an electronic solution and easy access to the internet.
The Project
A small further investment was made during the project – some low-spec laptops were purchased for use by the Assessors (the on-line issue being simply addressed through the use of very reasonably priced mobile broadband dongles from ’3’). Voice & Video recorders were also purchased to permit in-salon observations to be easily recorded. Initial training was provided to the Assessors, who then began to use the electronic system.
Outcomes
The implementation of VQManager has been so successful that Introtrain now exclusively deliver qualifications via VQManager. The Assessors and IV’s not only rapidly gained the required skills to use the system, but soon became significant contributors to the products growth direction.
